Girl Scouts and the Richard Nixon Presidential Library Go Green

The public is invited to attend the family friendly event, “Girl Scouts Go Green,” hosted by the Girl Scouts of Yorba Linda on Sunday, March 14th at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The celebration marks the 98th birthdays of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A and First Lady Pat Nixon, once honorary president of Girl Scouts.
This environmental consciousness event will increase awareness of the need to maintain ecological balance, live within the resource limits of our planet, and support a sustainable society which utilizes resources in such a way that future generations will benefit rather than suffer from our practices.
Booths will be sponsored by both Orange County Girl Scout Troops and ‘green’ corporations. The Science Olympiad Team from Santiago Charter Middle School in Orange will be on hand to perform demonstrations on both renewable and non-renewable energies. In addition, all guests will have the opportunity to plant their own tree.
Boys and girls of all ages are invited for free admission, free parking and free birthday cake. Additional “greenergy” opportunities will be available at a nominal fee.
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is located at 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd., in Yorba Linda. For more information on this event, visit www.GSBirthday.org. For information on the library, call 714-993-5075 or visit www.nixonlibrary.org.

For more information about the event, contact Jo Reitkopp at Reitkopp@aol.com or 714-685-8883.
For more information about Girl Scouting, contact Gail Ellis-Olds at 949-461-8826

Good for you! I'll be following your issues and promoting the OC Voice among my friends, colleagues and other green/common sense advocates.

Maybe you'll write up an article about our company. We are really making progress and doing our part by installing 100% organic vegetable gardens and fruit orchards all over Southern California...and soon the rest of the nation.
